Description

Auracrest Jelly Wax for Candle Making

Gel wax, is a unique type of candle wax that has a transparent, gelatinous texture and offers creative possibilities for candle making.

Clear & Decorative Candles – perfect for making visually stunning candles with embedded decorations like seashells, flowers, or glitter.

Longer Burn Time – It burns slower than traditional wax, making candles last longer.

Fragrance & Color Customization – You can mix in liquid dyes and high-flash-point fragrances to create scented, colorful candles.

Container-Based Candles – Due to its soft consistency, jelly wax must be poured into containers rather than used for standalone pillar candles.

Creative Layering – It can be combined with other waxes, like soy or paraffin, to create unique layered effects.

Temperature to Add Fragrance

  • Add fragrance at: 80 °C – 85 °C
(The wax should be fully melted and clear, but not smoking or yellowing.)

  • If added too cool - fragrance may not bind properly.

  • If added too hot - fragrance can burn off and weaken the scent throw.

Fragrance Load for Jelly Wax

  • Jelly wax can hold up to 3–6% fragrance load (by weight of wax), the gel structure breaks down if overloaded.

    • Example: For 1 kg wax, add 30–60 g fragrance oil

    • Example: 200 g wax × 0.05 = 10 g fragrance
  • Always use fragrance oils that are gel-safe. Some essential oils can cause cloudiness or separation.
  • Test in small batches first — some fragrances may not bind well or may discolor the clear wax.

  • Stir slowly but thoroughly for 2–3 minutes after adding fragrance.
