Description

SandAura Sand Wax for Candle Making

Candle sand or granulated wax is a unique type of wax used for creative candle-making.

No Melting Required – Unlike traditional wax, sand wax doesn’t need to be melted before use. You simply pour it into a container and insert a wick.

Customizable Designs – Its granular texture allows for layering different colors and creating intricate patterns.

Reusable & Eco-Friendly – After burning, the remaining wax can be scooped out and reused for future candles.

Perfect for Events – Sand wax candles are popular for weddings and decorative setups because they’re easy to make and maintain.

Temperature to Add Fragrance

  • Heat sand wax granules gently to around 75 °C – 80 °C before mixing fragrance.

  • Don’t overheat — sand wax can lose its granular texture if melted fully.

  • After mixing fragrance, allow it to cool slightly (65 °C – 70 °C) before pouring to retain the “sand” effect.

Fragrance Load for Sand Wax

  • Sand wax can hold 5–8% fragrance load (by weight).

    • Example: For 1 kg sand wax, add 50 g – 80 g fragrance oil.

  • Start testing at 6% — it gives good hot and cold throw without making the wax greasy.

    -Example: 200g wax × 0.06 = 12g fragrance

  • Always use fragrance oils designed for candle making (non-polar, safe for combustion).

  • Essential oils can be tricky: many don’t blend well with sand wax.

  • Mix fragrance evenly into the granules — stir slowly but thoroughly.

  • Overloading fragrance (>8%) can cause oil seepage and weaken the sand texture.
