Description

140 Fully Refined Paraffin Wax for Candle Making

Used in candle making due to its high melting point and refined quality.

Ideal for Pillar & Votive Candles – Its 140°F melting point makes it perfect for creating sturdy, long-lasting candles.

Smooth & Glossy Finish – Produces a clean, professional look for decorative candles.

Excellent Fragrance Retention – Holds scents well, making it great for scented candles.

Minimal Soot & Smoke – Ensures a cleaner burn compared to lower-grade paraffin waxes.

Versatile Applications – Used for taper, hurricane, novelty, and molded candles.

How to use:

Heat the paraffin wax to its melting point, typically around 140°F (60°C)

Use a double boiler or a wax melter for controlled heating.

Once melted, mix in fragrance oils and dyes if desired. Paraffin wax holds scents well, making it ideal for scented candles.

Carefully pour the melted wax into candle molds or jars. Ensure the wick is centered for an even burn.

Allow the wax to cool and harden at room temperature. Avoid sudden temperature changes to prevent cracks.

Trim the wick to about ¼ inch before lighting to ensure a clean, steady flame.

Common blends:

The mixing ratio with other waxes depends on the desired candle properties.

  • Paraffin & Soy Wax (70:30 or 80:20) – Improves burn quality while maintaining paraffin’s smooth finish.
  • Paraffin & Beeswax (50:50 or 70:30) – Enhances hardness and extends burn time.
  • Paraffin & Coconut Wax (60:40 or 70:30) – Creates a creamy texture with better fragrance retention.
  • Paraffin & Palm Wax (80:20 or 90:10) – Adds a crystalline effect and improves durability.

All details and recommendations above are intended as a general guide to assist new users. This guide serves as a helpful starting point for candle makers, but actual performance may vary depending on vessel diameter, fragrance type and load, colorants, additives, and production methods. For best results, customers must conduct their own test burns to determine the correct wick size and ensure safe, satisfactory performance. Resin Art Hub provides these guidelines for reference only and cannot guarantee outcomes based on this chart.

EcoOlive Container Blend Improves adhesion, hot throw, and gloss Effective but sacrifices natural branding
EcoOlive Pillar Blend Adds hardness & gloss, stronger throw Optional for decorative pillars
EcoCoco Container Blend Improves throw & surface shine Can use up to 10%
EcoCoco Pillar Blend Adds hardness and gloss but risk of cracks if >10% Use sparingly

Kerawax 4170 Rapeseed Container Wax Greatly boosts throw & gloss but reduces glass adhesion Can use 5–10%
Kerawax 2555 Beeswax Improves burn consistency & gloss, but reduces “pure beeswax” appeal Optional in designer blends
