Candle fragrance FAQs

What is fragrance load and what should I use?
Fragrance load is the percentage of fragrance oil in the finished candle. Most container waxes in the UAE work well at 6–10%. Start with 8% for testing and only increase if your wax supports a higher limit.
How do I calculate fragrance oil for my wax?
Decide your fragrance load, enter the wax amount in the calculator, and it will show the fragrance oil needed. Example: 1000 g wax at 8% needs 86.96 g FO so total finished fill becomes ~1086.96 g.
Why does my candle have weak scent throw?
Common causes are low load, wrong wick size, pouring too cool/hot, or using a fragrance not suited for your wax. Test 6%, 8%, and 10% loads, adjust wick, and cure for at least 7–10 days for soy blends.
Can I just add more fragrance for stronger smell?
Only within the wax limit. Too much FO can cause sweating, soft tops, smoke, or poor burn. Always check the maximum load for your wax and never exceed it for safety.
Do different fragrances need different loads?
Yes. Heavy base notes often perform well at 6–8%, while lighter citrus or fresh notes may need 8–10%. Make small test candles to find the sweet spot for each oil.
